Brow shaping is similar to "brow waxing" but more precise.
Unlike brow waxing, (where someone just slaps some wax on and rips it off,) you consult with your stylist about what brow shape is best for your face and features. Pretty much, after this -- you'll never go to a nail salon to get your brows done again!
• TINT: Tinting is the process of applying a gentle dye to enhance, shape, and define your brows. For brows that have blonde/lighter hairs mixed in, tint works wonders at grabbing the lighter hairs, resulting in a fuller shape! The tint will add a stain on your skin which can last up to 1 week, and on your hair for up to 4 weeks.
• HENNA: Another way to enhance, shape and define your brows using a natural dye. Henna is perfect for someone who likes the Powder Brow look, but doesn't want the commitment. Henna is also designed to last longer than tint, so it will stain the skin lasting up to 14 days and can stain the hairs for 4-6 weeks. (Henna is my preferred method!)
• LAMINATION: a perm designed to straighten the brow hair resulting in an instantly full, lifted and fluffy brow. Its perfect if you want to keep your brows styled a certain way but are tired of using eyebrow gel every day. (can not be combined with henna)
Whether you want your makeup done "just because," or for a special event -- I do it all. Makeup appointments are around 45 minutes to 1 hour in length, and include prepping of the skin, and false lash application. (Available for on-location work, additional fees may apply.)
This form of brow art is done with a permanent makeup machine that implants the pigment into the top layers of the skin in order to achieve a soft powder effect. The ideal candidates for powder brows are those who want a low-maintenance brow routine and desire to feel more confident in their brows. (consultation required for new clients)
It depends on your preferred look. Typically, brow henna is darker and stays darker, longer. (Which is what I love.) But if you want a more natural look, brow tint will probably be your favorite! You can always try a tint first, and then if you want to try Henna next, you can!
In order to officially get on my books, I require all clients to pay up front. This streamlines the process, and allows me to spend more time pampering you at your appointment! ;)
You should return for a touch-up 6-8 weeks after your initial appointment. Your brows should last 1-3 years, but we encourage getting a touch-up every 12-15 months to keep your shape.
Both services are a form of cosmetic tattooing and have a lot in common, but there are some distinct differences. Microblading uses a hand-tool to create realistic hair strokes in the hairline, whereas powder brows are done with a machine in order to create an ombre look instead of individual hair-strokes. I recommend powder brows for individuals with oily skin, mature skin, or those wanting a soft makeup look. The idea candidates for powder brows are those who have hair, but fill in with makeup. Powder brows traditionally last longer than microblading, (and are less painful.)
